Welcome to Dr. Weile Yan's Environmental Interface Chemistry Lab!
Research in our lab is focused on reactions at water-mineral interface. Mineral solids are ubiquitous in the aquatic environment and water treatment systems. We are interested in understanding reactions catalyzed by earth-abundant mineral surfaces and harnessing their reactivity for pollution abatement and sustainable management of the aquatic environment.
Research Interests
Reactive Mineral Colloids
Surface-mediated reactions and interactions in aquatic systems.
Iron Nanoparticles
Iron-based nano- (or bulk) materials for subsurface remediation.
Water and Energy
Sustainable water (re)use technologies for cleaner energy production.
Plastic Waste in Environment
Migration, deposition, and transformation of plastic waste in urban watersheds.
